About JAM (Joint Admission for Masters) 

The JAM entrance exam is a national level exam conducted by Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of Sciences for admission in PG course like M.Sc, Master in Economics, and also for Joint M.Sc-PhD Course for session 2021-2022. JAM-2021 will be organized by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Banglore. The New subject, Economics also introduced in JAM-2021.

The subject of JAM - There are a total of 7 Subjects for which JAM-2021 will be taken including one newly introduced subject.

  1. Physics(PH)
  2. Chemistry(CY)
  3. Mathematics(MA)
  4. Mathematical Statistics(MS)
  5. Biotechnology(BT)
  6. Geology(GG)
  7. Economics(EN)
Eligibility - 

As JAM acronym as Joint Admission Test for Masters so Bachelor's degree is required for this exam. 

General, OBC and EWS category - 55%
SC/ST and PwD category - 50%

Exam Pattern - 

Objective type or Numerical type questions will be asked in the Exam of JAM-2021. The exam will be divided into 3 sections.

  • Section 1 - Total 30 Questions [10(1-Marks) + 20(2-Marks)]
  • Section 2 - Total 10 Question of Multiple Select Questions(MSQs)[2-Marks]
  • Section 3 - Total 20 Numerical Answer Type Questions(NAT) [10(1-Marks + 10(2-Marks)]

Fees for Application - 

  • For SC/ST, PwD and Females - 1-Paper- 750/- and 2-Papers - 1050/-
  • For all other categories - 1-Paper - 1500/- and 2-Papers - 2100/-
Important Dates - 

  • Commencement of registration - 10 Sep 2020
  • Last Date to fill Application - 15 Oct 2020
  • Exam Date of JAM-2021 - 14 Feb 2021
  • Result of JAM-2021 - 20 March 2021
